It is every owner’s nightmare: your car is damaged or stolen. Then comes the second blow: the insurer only pays out the ‘current market value’. An amount that is nowhere near sufficient to purchase a comparable replacement.

At Albers Sportscars, we know that the market value of enthusiast cars is often well above standard price lists. Therefore, an up-to-date, recognized valuation report is not a luxury, but a necessity. It is your only guarantee of a fair payout in the event of a calamity.

WHY A VALUATION REPORT?

Standard car insurance looks at age and depreciation. For youngtimers and exclusive sports cars, such as Donkervoort, Porsche, or Ferrari, this mechanism does not work; these cars often increase in value or remain value-stable.

With an official valuation report, the value is recorded according to Article 7:960 of the Dutch Civil Code. This means the insurer must accept this value as the fixed basis for the payout. No discussion, no depreciation.

When is a valuation necessary?

  • When taking out classic car or youngtimer insurance.
  • When the current report is older than 36 months (validity usually expires after 3 years).
  • After a major restoration or overhaul that has increased the value.

Because a valuation must be objective, we facilitate this process in collaboration with renowned, VRT- and TMV-certified registered appraisers. These experts specialize in our segment and know exactly how a car performs in the current market.

1. Inspection on the lift

A careful inspection is of great importance for an accurate valuation. At Albers Sportscars, the car is fully inspected. If necessary, we also examine the car extensively from underneath.

2. Documentation & History

Complete documentation is essential for a correct valuation. Restoration photos, maintenance invoices, and history play a major role in substantiating a higher value.

3. The Report

You will receive a comprehensive full-color valuation report. This document meets all the requirements of the FEHAC and insurance companies. This allows you to insure your car all-risk with peace of mind.

COMBINE WITH MAINTENANCE

Does your car need to visit our workshop soon for an MOT or maintenance? That is the perfect time for a valuation. Your car will already be with us. We will ensure it is clean and ready for the appraiser. This saves you time and an extra trip.
